As the specialist arm of Genius Printing, Tonal Reproductions supports the local artistic community. We actively participate in exhibits and art competitions. In 2010, we launched the Pure Genius Exhibition, wherein we selected and showcased works by 50 selected photographers and digital artists at one of Melbourne's foremost art galleries. We reproduced, marketed, and handled the sales ourselves and it had been such a fantastic year that we are doing the Pure Genius Exhibition again in 2011.
We consider it great honour to lend a hand to budding artists in the whole of Australia and we are always open to proposal submissions. We invite professional and amateur photographers, painters, and digital artists to submit project proposals. Grab the chance to make a name for yourself, meet enthusiasts and important people in the industry, and bring your art closer to the general public.
Outline your sponsorship opportunity and include samples, a cover letter, and other relevant information. Our sponsorship team members will review and evaluate the potential of your proposal. Expect a response within two to three weeks after receipt of your submission. We will contact you as soon as possible should we require additional information. We greatly appreciate your time and effort to invite us to be part of your planned exhibition.
In 2008, Tonal Reproductions worked with Digital Artist and University of Ballarat Lecturer Marijke Groothius as she held her first solo exhibit, "Looking Deeper", at the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery. The exhibition featured masterpieces of digitally manipulated images in multiple layers merged into a single layer, producing vivid and colourful pictures with a dream-like quality that is the trademark of Marijke.
Tonal Reproductions met the artist's requirements in terms of sizes, wrapping types, and canvas. For printing her "Looking Deeper" collection, we used poly/cotton blend canvas for its whiter point. All 26 images on display were meticulously colour corrected to stay true to the definition and colours of the original artworks. Hard proofs were diligently sent to Marijke, ensuring that the canvases were ready for hanging upon delivery. Tonal Reproductions received praise for its instrumental role in making the exhibition a huge success.
