Professional Epson Photographic Printer

Tonal Reproductions uses one of the most desired photographic printers by world-leading manufacturer Epson in producing professional quality canvas prints. The Epson 9900 is a ten-colour, 44” wide printer that prints with a huge colour gamut at a breathtaking resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi.

Fade-Resistant Pigment Inks

We use only genuine Epson UltraChrome pigment inks (no third-party inks or refills) to perfectly match the capabilities of our Epson printers. The archival quality of Epson UltraChrome pigment inks feature high fade-resistance, better stability, and more vibrant colour accuracy when compared to solvent inks.

Epson UltraChrome inks feature high-pigment density with each particle covered in resin coating for better stability on various media including fine art, specialty and plain paper, and canvas. They deliver twice the density of conventional pigment inks with a wider colour range and deeper blacks. They are also highly resistant to wear and water damage.

Protective Laminate Finishes

We use protective laminates to prevent chipping, cracking, and scratching, and to protect our canvas prints from mould/fungus and airborne contaminants. Tonal Reproductions sprays all giclée canvas prints with two coats of water-based and highly flexible protective coating that further enriches colour and increases contrast. We have three available finishes to choose from: Matte, Satin, and High Gloss. With laminate finishing, canvas prints are ultra-clear and resistant to UV, scratches, and fungal elements.

Round-Edge Stretcher Bars

For mounted canvas prints, we use kiln-dried Eco-Select hardwood stretcher bars with unique rounded edges for maximum tension. The special bevelled design allows for maximum tension without causing cracks on all corners of the canvas. Our stretcher bars also feature superior locking system that works best for giclée fine art prints. All edges are “rounded” in the corners.

Tonal Reproductions uses plastic-coated hanging wires on our canvases without metal splinters for more convenient handling. Rated at 20kg, the wires have sufficient strength to support the largest canvases. The wires are double-looped through stainless steel eyelets at each end of the canvas print.
